I created 14 movies in AE that all have the same effects at the same times, just different video files. I exported all 14 just fine. I just recently went back into these files to make changes and for some reason a few of them completely lock AE up the 4:17 second mark. I’ve isolated it to the top text layer but there is no keyframe on the 4:17 frame. It’s just in the middle of a left to right position change that occurs through the whole movie. What in the world would be causing this? It completely locks AE up, I can only click the EXIT button and the whole program disppears or ALT>CTR>DELETE it. Anyone ever heard of something simiilar?

I should add it locks up when I both try to play the movie in AE and when I try to export it.

I would add one thing to Dave’s comments (which are right on the money), regarding getting to know the render pipeline well: Also get to know rending as numbered frames and not as Quicktime or Windows Media files. This can show you exactly where the problem lies and isolate it to a frame. That way you do not lose all the work up to that point (as the frames are all there) and you can then see which layer and/or object, etc., is causing your problem. Fix it and render out from that frame and voila!, you’re done.
