AE hangs when selecting keyframes
This just started happening randomly at some point this year because I never had this issue before while working with After Effects until recently. AE becomes really laggy when editing the timeline, selecting keyframes with the marquee, selecting layers, moving keyframes, etc. When selecting multiple keyframes AE hangs for a few seconds and I get the spinning beach ball until AE “catches up” with itself. This lag effect only happens when using the timeline. I have been using the same version (16.1.3) for at least a year now and never had any issue regarding this matter on both of my MacBooks until recently. What could be causing this?
After Effects Version: 16.1.3
My system specs:
– Mid-2014 15″ Retina MacBook Pro
– 2.5 GHz i7
– 16gb RAM
– Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M & Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
– Mid-2012 13″ MacBook Pro
– 2.5 GHz i5
– 12gb RAM
– Graphics: Intel HD 4000

Have you added any third party plugins, extensions, or scripts? Have you changed your layouts at all?
Highly recommend installing the newest version. It can be installed alongside your current version without interfering with it (so you can go back if you must). There have been many bug fixes between your version and what’s current.
