    I had just finished rendering last night and was in the process of shutting down when the power went out. I tried to open the file this morning and it does not open. I get the following errors.

    AE error: file damaged (33::7)

    AE warning” unable to read project color setting. Color setting reset to factory defaults

    I had a days work in to the project and did not have a back up yet.

    Is there anyway to recover the file?

    I replaces the preferences without any luck.

    Using AE7 on a PC

    The only option I’m aware of that works sometimes is creating a new project and trying to import your corrupted one into it. I’ve had mixed results with this over the years.

    Good idea. I now remember reading about this in the past. I went ahead and tried it. It did not work for me. I will remember it for the future.
