    Hello everyone,

I have this strange problem where my render doesn’t look the same as my preview.

    This is my preview:

    This is my render:

And these are my layer settings and effects:

I used the standers ae render settings (best/lossless) and have tried different settings. I’ve tried to collapse transformations and have tried 16 and 24 bits.

    Anybody having the same problem?

    Thanks for replying!

Please show a screenshot of your entire UI, not just a couple layers.

Common causes of a “my render doesn’t look like my preview” problem:

    1. You have a guide layer in the comp, which by design renders in preview but not final output.

    2. You are looking through something other than Active Camera in your viewer.

    3. You are previewing at a different resolution than you are rendering. This can have a significant impact on some effects. It can also lead to…

    4. You have changed something, but Ae is still incorrectly using an old cached image. Edit > Purge > All memory & disk cache to clear this up.

Could it be your output alpha channel settings?

I’ve found the problem. Using a fast blur effect on a layer that has the glow layer style on it does not render out correctly. Precomposing the layer and using one effect in the pre-comp en one after seem to work.
    Thanks everyone for your replies!

    Auke,
I just had the something similar as you! It does have something to do with fast blur. With mine, i had a camera move out when it happens. However when i have it dynamic linked on a PPRO timeline, it works just fine!
I have purged, restarted, seems like everything, but the only way i can get rid of this strange render in AF is to turn off Blur. Bug?!

Seems like the last version of ae is a bit buggy, i’ve got the “strange situation” error just a few days ago…
