Ae thinks that it is operating on OS 10.4.9 and tells me that this version does not support Open GL, but I’m running 10.4.11 that will support Open GL in AE. How do I get AE to recognize the OS update?

    Thanks,

I was prepared to mess around with it for the rest of the day, but I suppose I’ll let it go for know….However, I’m sure my curiosity will get the best of me and end up wasting my weekend…

    regards,

i’m one of those guys that dave is referring to… i was actually reasonable successful with opengl on ae7, until i was saddled with a macpro (opengl was one of the many things that rosetta didn’t handle too well). but once cs3 came out and multiprocessing was better realized in ae rendering, i never went back to trying to using opengl… multiprocessing was faster.

but if you want to try, try downloading the full os 10.4.11 update from apple and installing that (it the one that will go from 10.4.0 to 10.4.11 and will be 10x bigger than the smaller update). you can find it in the software download area under apple software/updates… my guess is that something has been lost or broken since one of the updates…

you should also run the disk utility (applications>utilities) and repair permissions and check disk prior to updating and after, it’s just good practice.
