September 6, 2014 at 2:38 pmSo I run the test without problems on:
AFX CC 2014
4930K @4,2GHz
16GB 1866MHz QuadChannel
GTX 770Result: 6 min 20 sec
This thread need more attention. People are unaware that the best card for Mercury and Ray-trace are: GTX 480, 580, 680, 780 etc.
What I mean, CPU, RAM, CUDA cores, those thing do not matter as long as the card has 384bit BUS Width or even 512bit.
192bit and 256bit are a rip-off in AFX and Premiere.
I hope that someone will do a test with the new upcomming
GTX 970 and 980, but I am not expecting much, because they have 256bit BUS width. Our only hope is the new Cuda architecture which hopefully minimizes the bandwidht limitations. -

September 12, 2014 at 10:58 amSorry for the long delay Tenchi, did you manage to get your card working eventually?
I was reading your post again just now, wondering if maybe the card was simpy faulty
in some way, whether you’d been able to replace it via RMA.Ian.

September 19, 2014 at 11:10 pmHi!
I send the card back, it should be a problem with oc cards,
the msi is a oc (by deafult) card. -

September 24, 2014 at 1:05 amNo, but I’m trying to sell two 580 3GB cards atm; if I can then I’ll replace
them with a 980 and test it.Ian.
