  • AE CS5 stereo becomes 2 mono in Final Cut

Posted by Gordon Storey on August 29, 2010 at 4:44 am

I recently updated to CS5 Production Premium from CS4. I’m rendering sequences with audio from stereo wave files, using same settings etc that I used in CS4 with no problems. But now when I import the CS5 rendered QT into Final Cut (FCP7) the audio shows as “2 mono”. Both audio tracks are there, but are panned to centre. If I manually pan them left and right, I have the “stereo” effect that I should have. But before CS5 they correctly imported into FCP as “stereo”. Old CS4 rendered QTs still come in as “stereo”. If I play the new CS5 rendered QT with QT Player, it sounds fine, and is stereo. Inspector says it’s stereo. But FCP tells me it’s “2 mono”! I think I’ve been through all the relevant settings, and can’t see a reason. I’m baffled. Any ideas appreciated.

    Hi,
Did you ever figure out the problem? I am having the same issue.

    Thanks,
