AE CS5 – no option to render MOV & RGB with alpha channel
Silly question.
I have a rotoscope composition that was super easy to do with the Rotobrush in CS5.
The intent is to render in MOV format with RGB and alpha channel, which will be input into Resolve 15.
Two basic problems:
1) When I chose MOV as the render container, the “RGB and alpha” option is grayed out – the only choices are either RGB or Alpha.
2) I can chose the AVI container format and then chose RGB and alpha for the video, BUT Resolve 15 still does not apparently accept AVI files as input.There are AVI to MOV conversion websites, but all of them apparently are there just to stick one or more viruses on my computer.
Any suggestions as to getting AE CS5 to output the render in MOV and RGB/alpha, OR get Resolve 15 to accept an AVI file (or any other option)?

Click Format Options and select a codec that supports alpha — the Animation codec will do — and then you’ll be able to select RGB + Alpha.
