AE CS5 and pI + Licensing Question

March 13, 2010 at 4:21 pm1. AECS5 will likely be 64-bit only. Is pI for AE going 64-bit as well?
2. Has the licensing for pI changed at all now that it’s a plug-in for AE? With pI3 I can only install it on one computer per license. Period. Adobe allows AE to be installed on 2 systems, with only one system in use at any time. The thinking is that you can use your AE license when you’re on the road away from your primary editing system. Does the pI for AE plug-in licensing follow the Adobe model, or will I have to choose whether to install it on my desktop editing system or my notebook editing system?
Thanks,

March 14, 2010 at 5:09 pmWe will be releasing a CS5-compatible version of pIAE.
pI3 can be installed on multiple machines as long as they are personally owned by you and you will be the only one using particleIllusion on them.
pIAE licensing is currently the same (limit 2 machines if above conditions are met), but using a different licensing scheme. We’ll be changing licensing schemes again shortly to make it more flexible.
Alan.

March 15, 2010 at 2:56 amThanks, Alan, for the good info.
Maybe I misunderstood the licensing info that I got from wondertouch a few years ago – would you mind contacting me off-list or having a rep contact me? Email address is in my profile.
