AE CS4 Freezes on Startup
I am running After Effects CS4 on a mac that is well equipped to handle the software. I’m trying to open a file I was working on yesterday and AE freezes on startup. The “opening” dialogue runs and the project window is filled with the files I imported and was working with. But then I get a “Save Project” dialogue that loads to 62% and freezes indefinitely. Is this a common error and something that I can fix or do I need to start from scratch while cursing the Adobe gods….

On the few times I have had something similar to this ie opening a working project and it keeps crashing out what I have done is start AE from fresh and imported the thought to be troubled project. For some reason I have not had it crash out on me and can just resave and carry on.
Not saying it will work thou :-p just something I have done time to time in this situation and on CS3

Check the time on your machine, If your time is incorrect then afe won’t work correctly. After correcting ur time If it doesn’t work then try to uninstall and install after effects with all it’s features. Also try to update the Quick Time with the latest version. If again you have the same problem, then you didn’t save the project correctly
