February 4, 2009 at 10:16 amYou can…. If not then it sounds like the age old After Effects and windows clipboard problem although I haven’t actually noticed it myself since using CS4. Restart After Effects and it should work again.

March 25, 2009 at 1:54 amHi,
I have the same bug. It’s not a user error…have been using After Effects for years and know how to copy text from somewhere else and paste it into After effects text tool.No matter hwat the source, even other adobe products, I am unable to copy text and then paste it into the adobe text tool. Very frustrating.
Have read some expressions that seem to address this, ubt it’s a bug that Adobe seems to be disregarding which some people other than me are experiencing.
Running AE CS4
Windows Vista machine.Anyone got any solutions that address the issue? no silly workarounds please. thanks in advance

September 28, 2009 at 2:21 pmI also have this bug. Can’t believe this has been an unpatched problem for almost a year now. I literally have to RE-TYPE lines and lines of text because I can’t paste.
Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

August 17, 2010 at 8:03 pmI found a temporary fix to this issue:
•While AE is running: Copy text from another location (IE, Word, Etc.) Text should now be on Windows Clipboard.
•QUIT After Effects.
•START After Effects -> load project and PASTE!
I’m on a WIN7 box using AECS4
