Anyone know if adobe is releasing a professional and standard version of AE CS3? I get the impression they’re dropping standard, but wasn’t positive. Just trying to figure out what to do about upgrading. Right now I have 6.5 standard, and really need a pro version so I can use Keylight. Now abobe has the updgrade deal where you can upgrade to AE 7, then get CS3 when it’s released for free. Can I assume that if i upgrade from AE 6.5 standard to AE 7 standard, I’ll get AE CS3 Pro (and in the end be able to use keylight)?

I know this has been asked a ton, but is there a more solid release date yet? I’ve heard end of june and end of july…

Sorry for the random question, I just don’t want to wind up upgrading and not even getting what i need.

    Any answers are much appreciated!

There is staight upgrade path from 6.5 standard to CS3 Pro. And very reasonable price as well. Look at Adobe store prices. If you have time to wait, skip upgrading to AE7 pro.

AE dropping standard is the best thing that could have happened for you.
They will let you upgrade to CS3 Professional (it’s still called that, even if there’s no standard version) at the same price former “Pro” users will pay.
    Not bad!

I purchased the CS2 version of the Production Studio with the agreement (as per their page) to upgrade to CS3 when it comes out. I’ve heard multiple license owners get automatic upgrades sent to them first, but individual license folks (aka: me) have to ‘wait and be patient’ I guess. Otherwise, I’m hesitant to start bugging Adobe.

    Anyone else in this situation?

Richard: Since it’s not out yet, I’d say it’s a bit premature to start bugging 🙂

Well I do tend to be a bit reactionary 🙂

It’s just that I’d received an email announcing trial versions being available for download – so I assumed it was ready for release…

It is indeed coming very soon. I don’t know if *this* soon 🙂
