    Hi all,

Is it just me or does the new CS3 run about 50% slower than 6.5 or 7.0 on a G5 non-Intel machine. I’m sure it works great on the intels; but on my dual 1.8 G5 4Gb RAM(no laughing), it’s dog slow – to the point where i’d rather be working on 6.5…

Renders that would normally take 2 or 3 min on in 6.5 take about 20min in CS3?

does anyone else have these problems?

I haven’t done any detailed tests, but I’ve noticed that when doing color correction, Color Finesse 2 on CS3 runs about 40-50 slower than Color Finesse 1.5 on AE 6.5 for the same file.

what i notice is that any timeline interaction is real slooooo. Trying to select keyframes and move them is just a pain…you have to select things like three or four times to it to register. In general just moving around the timeline, doing normal things just seems to take much longer than before…and oh yea, rendering is ridiculously slow…

Hmmm….that was our experience with AE7. Our expereience with CS3 has been fantastic. We have all G5 dual 2.7s. We are not running QT 7.2 yet and are running OS 10.4.9. I’m pretty sure we have 4 gigs of RAM on each machine.

We had lots of the problems reported here with our installs of AE7. We stuck with 6.5. But CS3 seemed to solve all those issues.

Maybe I should have another look!

I am really disappointed here to see such a ridiculous difference in Render times. I even just got two more gigabytes of RAM with no luck at all.

I’m running AMD 4200, 3 Gigs of RAM.

These Renders are very very disappointing for me.
Cuz I just finished two big projects and couldn’t foresee there’d ever be such a problem. AE7 was quite on my computer.

HOpe there is an update soon!!!
