I can’t get AE to stop crashing. It’s crashed 5 times in less than 20 minutes. I’ve tried restarting and nothing helps. I’m running Lion 10.7.2 on an iMac with 16 GB of RAM. Does anyone know what this is about? Are there preferences I should trash? Thanks for any help.

Open your preferences and under OpenGL there should be some kind of “Advanced” button which allows you to set how much graphics ram After Effects sets, make sure this is less than the amount of graphics ram your system allocates (I assume you’re using ATI/integrated graphics).

Alternately, just make sure your ATI drives are up to date and AE is up to date as a starting point.

Turn OpenGL off. Adobe recommends that as well as most folks on this forum.
