so I have my G5 that I just got, not new but fresh install of everything.

dual 2ghz 4 gig of ram.

seems that this machine likes to crash /hang/become a paperweight when attempting to render any kind of image sequence, targa, pict, tiff etc.

rendering .mov’s seems to be fine but sequences max out the processor and then cause the machine to become unresponsive.

I have troubleshooted the open GL according to adobe and it seems of no use.

anybody else have suggestions or had a similar experience.

    many thanks

in the ouput module settings, are you choosing the image sequence option from the format pulldown menu (at the top of window) or by clicking format options in the video output section and choosing the image sequence from the compression type pulldown menu?

Are you running AE7? If you just installed 7 there’s a 7.0.1 upgrade available. Which drive are you rendering to? Sequences create a lot of disk activity.
