    Hi,
I am working on a MAC OS X 10.4.10 with a 2×2 GHZ Dual Core Intel Xeon
Processor. 6GB of memory and lot of Ram. I am still working in After
Effects 7.01 and within the program I am using 30% memory use. maximum
    Ram Cach size is 15%.
I have about 6 layers with this effect CC Cylinder applied. The
animation is only 14 seconds long. Every time I try to ram preview it
crashes. Even in third resolution and half mode. Every time I try to
render it out, the program crashes saying unknown error had occurred.
What I am doing now just to get the thing done is rendering it out in
2 second increments, but I shouldn’t have to do this.
It’s very annoying and I don’t know what to do.
Has anyone else experience issues with this effect?
Should I increase or decrease the percentage of memory within the program?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!!!

if you like using the cc effects, the best thing to do would be to upgrade to ae cs3.

there is a problem the cc effects and rossetta (the powerpc emulator that ae needs to run to work on intel-macs). the best way to fix that is to upgrade to an intel native version of ae (cs3).

there is a work around that i used to use with ae7 on my macpro that you can try. the work around is to only apply cc effects to adjustment layers. this means that you will need to precomp individual layers that you want to apply cc effects to so you can add a cc effect to and adjustment layer and not have it effect other layers below it.

it’s not the ideal workflow, but it should get you by.
