AE Crash on start-up with disk cache warning– I cannot change preferences
Hello, I have an iMac (2013) with 64GB of RAM.
I have been using AE for a while, but it was slowing down. Now it crashes on start-up after posting a warning that there is not enough space where the disk cache is located. It will not allow me to change preferences.I’ve tried:
• Emptying cache folders
• Using Clean My Mac to create more space
• Eliminating 20 GB of files
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the program and deleting my old preferences (they run off Creative Cloud)
• Using AE 2014 and AE CC 2015There are 135GB free on the external hard drive where the cache is located and 110 GB of space on my hard drive.
Any suggestions? I’m not able to work at this point and terrified.

I’d rather doubt that the crash is related to the cache. If you’ve already reset preferences (hold Cmd+Opt+Shift while Ae is starting), I’d suggest uninstalling or temporarily removing any third-party plugins and trying to open Ae.

Thanks. I tried uninstalling and deleting all preferences.
I moved third party plug-ins to a separate folder away from Applications.
Will try deleting them off the local drive and see if that works.
