Imported an AE Comp into Premiere and the AE Composition freezes video.

When the play head encounters the embedded AE comp (which is a lower third) that I have on a video track over the main interview video, the video portion of the video interview freezes while the audio keeps going. Once the play head is no longer over the superimposed AE comp, the main interview video plays fine.

    What’s going on?

Render the timeline first before playing the section.
Comps from AE are CPU intensive.

I’ve found Dynamic Link to an AE comp to be more of a pain than it’s worth. Unless I have a short AE comp or just animated text, I will usually just render out a complete movie file and import that into PPro. DL is nice, but is very slow depending on what you have going on in that AE comp.
I have some transition comps that change weekly. I use DL for those and yes, if I park in the middle of one that isn’t rendered, I have to wait a couple minutes before I can see it.

I usually DL the clip or whatever from Pro to AE then disconnect.
Do my thing in AE and export to an intermediate file and import this into Pro.
