AE comp not displaying correctly in Premiere Pro CS5 via Dynamic Link
I’ve noticed this bug before but didn’t think much of it until now. Having an issue where the After Effects CS5 comp I’ve created does not appear the same in Premiere Pro CS5 via the Dynamic Link. Here’s the details:
– Shot two shots on a locked off camera. Needed to merge the two clips via some simple rotoscoping. Placed both clips on my Premiere timeline, selected and used Dynamic Link to send to After Effects.
– Used AE mask to rotoscope my clip. Used Mask Path, Mask Feather, and Mask Expansion for the mask.
– Achieved my look in AE, saved the comp, and then I hopped back over to Premiere Pro to see the update.
– Premiere Pro sees than an update was made.
However….
Upon playback in Premiere Pro, it does not appear that my mask feathering or expansion has been applied. It looks very sloppy in Premiere where it looks perfect in AE.
I’ve had this issue happen a few other times and I chalked it up to low memory or really tired eyes on my part.
I’ve tried restarting both programs, setting and reseting the opacity on the clips in AE, renaming the comp, re-importing the comp back into Premiere, but no luck.
Is this a known bug in CS5 or am I going crazy?
