AE changing imported movie formats when importing? why?
Hello-
Run into something baffling.
My AE Comp is 1920×1080. When I import footage (mov also at 1920×1080) & place footage clips into the comp, the imported footage is a smaller (4:3) format. I then have to go to Transform & ‘fit to comp’.
Two questions:
1. why are the mov.s, that’re same format as comp, changing when imported into AE?
2. am I degrading the image when I just go to ‘Fit to Comp’, rather than get to the bottom of this?

sounds like a pixel aspect ratio problem. see if it’s set to a dvcpro preset.

Do you have a good resource (book or weblink) you’d recommend for learning more about pixel aspect resolution?
