    Since the 2019-upgrade, I’m having this issue. I get the unable to allocate ram-message, and can’t do anything else but force quit. In the mean time, the task manager shows me that there’s plenty of Ram sitting idle.
    Any clues?

    Windows10pro, 64G ram…

    Nobody has a clue? I’ve reinstalled windows and after effects, tested ram and gpu-ram, tested drives, replaced the gpu…

    Found It! With a little help from Adobe support: the culprit was the latest update from Blackmagic Desktop Video – the drivers for my Decklink card. I downgraded them, and now all is well
