I have a second monitor to increase real estate for panels, such as effect controls. When I move the effect controls window onto the second monitor, it looses functionality. I have to move it back to my main screen to make adjustments.

    27″ iMac
    High Sierra
    32GB RAM
HP 22er monitor, connected via HDMI, out of a Thunderbolt dock.

This was not always the case, seems to have started perhaps after update to High Sierra.
I am running primarily AE 2015, for compatibility with work system. And it is quite stable,
unlike some recent versions I have played with.

    Is this a known issue?
    Just a matter of age…?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say CC 2015 was more stable than anything… I’ve found every version since its release to be an improvement. The latest version (after the latest update) has been especially good.

Sorry that I don’t have anything more useful to suggest. If you’re going to update your OS, you have to be prepared that updating your software might have to happen too.

I had similar problems when I was on High Sierra. Try this:

    In OS prefs/Mission Control
    toggle off:
    Displays have Separate Spaces

You may have to restart AE. If that doesn’t work, reopen that pref and also toggle off
    Group Windows by Application
    Restart AE and try again.

    Hope that helps,

    Excellent, constructive feedback.
I will try these and thanks again.
