? about effect in this video
Posted by Mitch Hardison on December 30, 2010 at 5:38 pmWhat is the easiest way to achieve the effect in this video around 42 sec. in? I am referring to the flashes of color. I see this a lot.

December 30, 2010 at 6:29 pmIt is a “16mm” end of film look, or something like that.
It’s a combination of flashes of light (use levels) and color correction of the image to bring that to orange tones (use a Photo filter or Colorista to do that). Of course it involves animating the above to “flash” a few times before a transition/cut.
Sometimes you can ad a 50-30% orange layer on top and animate some feathered masks to create some “blobs” of color that grow over the image.
I’m sure you can find some good tutorials if you google it, but that’s my way of doing it.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

January 21, 2011 at 11:52 pmJust been looking for a solution to this effect myself, 16mm stock footage from Artbeats is good but expensive.
However I found these guys…

Their film FX Transitions are dirt cheap in comparison and work just as well as (if not better) than stock footage.
Just covered my pre-title in them today and it looks magic.
