hey there, I have a super tight deadline and my AE has gone crazy. Everytime I try to pre-comp a layer it crashes one me. My Main comp is 1920×1080 square pixels. I am running OS 10.4.2 with 4gb ram. I have also been using zaxwerks pro-animator and I tried the new reflector but that makes it crash everytime I try it. I have re-installed the zaxwerks software and updated to current versions.
I feel like this should be such a simple task and everything is going haywire. I have 2 lights and one camera in my comp also. Any suggestions as to what I should do???
Also, every time I open AE it seems to be searching for footage, it brings up a box to locate the footage. I don’t understand why, I am not using this footage in my time line and it does not exist in my project bin. So why does it keep searching for it? It is from an old project that no longer exists. Could this be part of my problem? I can’t open the program without going through the search for the footage and I have to hit the “skip? button about 5 times. Is there a cache or something I need to clear???

    Thanks for any help!

Try not precomping the Zaxwerks layers. I believe there’s some issues trying to precomp those.

If so, maybe there’s a workaround to using your 3D layer.
