AE 7.0 Window must be made active before working within them.
It might be an Tiger issue as I am seeing this more and more (like when you have to make an OS window active before resizing it or using the scroll wheel), but in AE 7.0 why do I have to click in the time line window before I can do something to a layer, if I have just been working in the comp window. Or, if I have been doing things in the time line, I have to click inside the effects window before I can alter effects settings. Clicking in any window or pallet other than the one you are working in uses up that first click to make the window active. It seems to be a window focus problem. In earlier versions (in fact ALL earlier versions, right back to COSA), the app knew when you were over a window with the mouse and let you do things in that window right from the first click.
I guess it’s 6.5 for a while longer if I want to work fast. Hmmm…. work fast or render fast?
