AE 7.0 Freezes, Then a System Failure
I have a 3 Mac G5’s all running After Effects, and this problem seems to be consistent throughout, and I don’t know how to alleviate this issue. The issue I am having is when I need to work in detail with camera movements, away from the {canvas (Art board) workspace}, so when I go to left or top view, it always slows down the computer or crashes on occasion. I have a Dual 2.7 Ghz, w/ 8 Gb of ram, this kind of thing shouldn’t be happening unless there is some bug in the software, any thoughts on what I can do to stop this from happening.

Hmm … never heard of that one.
Let’s troubleshoot by removing possible causes:
– determine if that happens at a specific point in the timeline
– switch off any effects and/or layers that are active at that point in the timeline
– determine if switching views reveals something that was not revealed in another view
– try switching off OpenGL
– is more RAM accessed when you look at this view? You may have bad RAM …?
– can you try working in wireframe view to see if that works? -
I have been having an issue with working in the 3-D space when I need to work in finetuning a camera movement, or fine tuning lights or where my objects are placed. Wheat happens is that I am working in a space beyond the white canvas or workspace, so I am in the grey space, and when I zoom in to work in detail, AE 7 always freezes and occasionally will cause my computer to completely freeze as well. THIS I HATE. It’s so frustrating when I want to work in fine detail but I can’t because it freezes on me, is this a AE 7 bug, OPEN GL Bug or something else? THanks for your help
