AE 7 fails after splash
Posted by Michael Brown on April 4, 2006 at 4:12 pmAE 7.0 splash appears, looks busy, then disappears, but no launch, no error message.

April 4, 2006 at 4:45 pmIf it has a chance to display what it’s doing (“initializing fype engine”, “Scanning folder:”, etc.), see if there is a clue in what it’s doing right before it dies.
Check for a font problem — when I first started messin’ with AE7 a bad font crashed it. -

April 4, 2006 at 5:13 pmRemove the OpenGL3D plug-in from the Plug-ins/Standard/Extensions folder. If that works, update your video card drivers, then put the plug-in back.

April 4, 2006 at 6:37 pmI do believe ‘OPENGL3D’ appeared in the last microsecond of splash-life. I will try your suggestions. Many thanks for both of your replies.
