AE 7 Expressions – anything new?
Hi, I just got AE 7 and aside from the interface tweaks I’m wondering what the skinny is on the expressions, anything new and worth checking out? The Adobe site isn’t very helpful.

Nope nothing noteworthy. There are some useful changes to JSX scripting, though.

AE 7 has at least a couple of welcome changes related to creating expressions.
In most cases now, when you change a layer’s name it doesn’t break expressions pointing to that layer.
Saving a preset now has a new behavior that’s very handy for expression writers. If you save an expression as a preset for a property that has no keyframes, only the expression is saved – not the property’s static value. In 6.5, for example, if you wrote an expression for a bouncing ball and saved it as a preset, when you applied the preset to another layer, the layer would jump to the position of the layer that you used to create the preset. Now, the layer will stay where you put it.
