AE 7 doesn’t like to be hidden?
anyone else having issues with this? since AE 7 takes up the whole screen, every time i need to go to my desktop i choose hide after effects, then go about my business. however, trying to bring it back is proving to be a bit of a problem. i can’t get it to come back at all, through the application switcher or the dock. that only leaves one choice – force quit. this is proving to be quite aggravating, especially when losing 30 minutes worth of work right after you render it. i know i can’t be the only one with this problem.

Yeah, that’s a confirmed problem. The only way to deal with it is to not hide AE for the time being ;o).

Since you’re using OSX, create an icon of your desktop and stick it in your dock. Then you can easily switch from your open programs to your desktop. That’s the way I manage multiple programs and it seems much easier than trying to hide them.

I only have trouble if I click on the redX. If I double click the top bar then AE hides and comes back every time. Maybe it’s the display card im using. I am running `10.4.4 but it’s on an older G4 with an old ATI card that don’t support open GL
