    Hello,
I am currently creating a title sequence, and I have a fairly good idea what I am trying to create. First of all you can get a good idea of the effect I am going for by viewing Apple’s NAB demo reel. (I am only concerned with the first 10 or so seconds)

I would like to create 3d introductory text as 3d as possible right in the beginning with some beautiful lighting. This will be followed by a series of 3d titles rotating in space

I am curious what the best workflow for this type of project would be? How will I create the lights I am looking for? How will I achieve the true 3d effect I am looking for?

The 3D text at the start can be created in AE with the bevel alpha effect, the Shatter effect (look for Shatter tutorials on the COW to understand it better) or the Zaxwerks Invigorator plugin. The other text can probably be arranged with Digital Anarchy’s 3D Assistants plugin.

The lights may have been created with the lens flare effect (with an animated effect point), and three white solids, each with an elliptical mask and a bit of blur applied.
