    So here is the thing:
Ive imported Canon 7D footage into Premiere and finished editing. Then i select a couple of clips and replace them with AE Comps.
In AE i change the bpc to 32-bit and change the workspace to linear.
When i save and go back to Premiere the linear colorspace makes the footage very dark.
If i add a luma corrector and change the gamma there to 2.2 the tonal values get fixed, but the colors are still a little washed out.

Is this a correct workflow or am i doing something wrong?

I like working in linear for CC in AE and the control i have over the colors and tonal values, but if i have to compromise with washed out colors when i return to premiere i might stay in 8 bit.

A couple of questions come to mind:

Are you working on a 32 bit float sequence in PPro?

If you are, the use of any effect that isn’t designated as 32 bit will clamp the entire sequence to 8 bit.

PPro doesn’t have the same color management as AE does, so for the moment, working in linear on a dynamic-linked comp may not supply the same results as rendering a clip from AE…
