    i got this project that ive mixed down to avi uncompressed. about 15 segments . 10 seconds each . each 10 sec file is about 700 mbs . and when i load them into premier my comp freezes up and plays them back real slow .. i just bought
    Sorenson squeeze 4 and want to know if i can compress these files down .. and hold some good quality for editing in my editor ???? sorry if this is kinda scrambled its late and my brain is burnt out .. any help woudl be great

    Don’t use squeeze – it is not designed to create video that is usable in a production environment. It’s a last step in creating compressed video, not an interim one.

    Instead of AVI uncompressed, try using either QuickTime with Animation Compression, or AVI with the HuffYUV codec, which you will need to find (free) and download. both are lossless codecs. If you have a lot of solid colors, Quicktime can reduce the video size dramatically. But it isn’t always right for the job. HuffyYUV can get it to half the size, I believe.
