Advisable work flow for p2 HD
I am running a fairly new dual core 2.3 GHZ G5 with 2 gigs of ram storing the footage on a 7200 rpm hard drive. I will be shooting clips with the HVX200 in 720p24N. What is the most advisable way to edit this footage in 720p FCP? I imported the clips off p2 cards and I have to render everything to get it to play back. Sould I be able to playback this stuff with no rendering? If not how complicated is a proxy edit?

First, hit control-q and choose the DVCPROHD 720p24 easy set up. CREATE A NEW SEQUENCE (very important) drop the footage into this new timeline and you should be good to go.
Do you have a capture card?
