Advice on what Mac to purchase
I am looking to replace my G5 Mac and need some advice on what would best suit my needs. I will be working on editing streaming video for the web and mobile devices as well as broadcast quality commercials and some documentary work. There is so much out there that I am feeling a little overwhelmed so I thought I would seek some suggestions from you all out there.

A few questions, to try to make some suggestions.
What type of media formats do you plan to work with?
Are you planning to edit with Premiere Pro or something else?
When you say you have a G5, do you mean you really still have an old G5 tower, or is it really a newer Mac Pro tower (2009-2012) and you are only calling it a G5?
How much do you want to spend?
What type of peripherals do you intend or need to attach?

The media formats I am thinking of working in are broadcast tv, digital films and commericals for tv. I plan on working with Premiere Pro or FCP X as well as After Effects and Photoshop. I don’t have the G5 anymore ( not for around 4yrs.). I would like to stay under $5000 for everything. As far as peripherals goes I’m not sure and am looking for suggestions. I am thinking probably two monitors and something for storage.
