    Hi,

I’m looking for a way to build a split-flap rig like the ones in old clocks and displays (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iww7w9VD9f0). I’ve seen many tutorials for achieving this in After Effects, but I was expecting to build a physical rig within C4D.

¿Any thoughts on this? So far I’ve made my first attempts using dynamic tags with no luck.

Thanks Randy! Way much simpler than I what I did. I finally got to achieve a decent simulation using dynamics.
I used a hinge to connect the bottom of the cards, and a motor to rotate the hole system. Also by using a top and bottom bumper I hold the position of the cards.

On the bright side, I got a realistic difference in height between the cards which is also what I’m aiming for. Maybe a mix of the two methods will give me exactly what I want.
