  Advice on mixers and other things.

  Ok, I apologize for not knowing what the heck I’m talking about. I come from the video side of things.

  First I’d like a little advice on a controller that works with FCP5 and Soundtrack Pro and also Reason, Logic, etc.
  Now if I’m not mistaken, this board doesn’t allow you to record sound from my mic to FCP or another program.

  Hence, I also need a mixer? Something that a few mics can plug into and using FireWire record to MiniDV or my Mac. I’d like to bring it too shoots too, if possible.
  And finally, I saw something called the Big Knob which controls output to different speakers? Any thoughts on this?

  I’m never going to be Mr. Sound but I want to be able to do a better job. I’m looking to spend around 200 to 400 for each piece of equipment.
  Am I crazy? Don’t answer that!
