Advice on Getting Clips onto DVD
Hi,
Looking for some advice,
I need to give a client 14 hours of footate (159 gbs worth) with each clip around 10 – 12gb. Would getting this onto DVD be more trouble than its worth?
I’ve tried to put it into Encore to transcode, but it keeps crashing. So i’ve been trying to render out in Premiere PAL 25
Should i just put the clips on a hard drive instead?

I can’t speak to Encore crashing or whether it’s a waste of time but it’s certainly possible. Question is- why? Is it for a viewing copy or editing? And are you expecting to fit all 14 hours onto one DVD or split it onto several?

Hi Noah,
It’s for viewing purposes, so quality really isnt an issue. They also want to view on a DVD player, so a data disk is out of the question. I’ve started rendering down the clips with premiere, but taking 4 hours / clip.
I’d like to cascade the clips on a series of DVDs, but not sure how to do this..

Well yeah you’ll be cascading it manually- how many discs depends on how low a bitrate you use. You can figure it out with this bitrate calculator:
