  • Advice needed on Scratch Disc location on new build.

Hi all, rebuilding my system and would like some advice. Back when I started with Premier 6.5, I was instructed it was best to keep Program, Project, Raw video, and Scratch on separate physical drives, which I have been doing ever since. In my new build I will not have room for a dedicated scratch disc, so I am wondering the best place to put it. My new build will have:

C: 120 GB Solid State System Drive running CS4
    D: 7200 RPM 1 TB WD Black
    E: 7200 RPM 1 TB WD Blue x2 in RAID 1

All raw video will be on E. Currently Project Files are on D

Am I better off moving the project files onto E with the raw video and scratching to D
    or
Creating a small partition on E as my scratch disc.

My last internship kept their project files with their raw video and things seemed to run pretty smoothly, but I thought I’d check with the experts before formatting and partitioning my new system.

I am running Win 7 32 Bit with 4 GBs RAM

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!
