    Hi!

I am a total newbie to Illustrator, i usually take the vector files created in it and animate them in After Effects… But this time i have a real headache, I am trying to use a Logo for a client but the file he gave me has some paths filled with white above some letters and i need the white gone so it will be transparent. If i delete the paths or make them with no fill it shows the underneath letters , but the letters don’t have transparent holes in them. Like the letter “g” for example, the circle in it is filled with color and i need a transparent hole…

I attach the file, i am sure it’s a 2 minutes job, if just someone can show me will be great.

    Thanks!

First of all, select the whole logo and ungroup it (since everything is a single group).

Now select the inner and outer part of the objects that are filled with white. For example select the outer (gray) part of the letter O and its inner white filling. So you have 2 separate objects selected now (the outer O and the inner white filling.) Right click > Make Compound Path.

Do this for all objects that you want the white part to be transparent.
