What are your sequence settings? Interlaced or Progressive?

    Hi Emmet,
Are you viewing the roller on a CRT? If so it sounds like your type is ‘flickering’ between two scan line as it rolls upwards. The best way to get around this is to blur the text by 1 pixel (Vertically) so that the type blurs across the scan lines creating a smooth roll. Its also a good idea to set your type to continuously rasterize so that the type is as sharp as possible. I have created many rollers for broadcast in this manner and they always pass with flying colours!

Now unfortunately Borris doesn’t have these features but After Effects does. After Effects will also allow you to implement your graphical elements and parent them to your type. Hope this helps and good luck with your project.
