    Hello everyone
This is my first time on the forum 🙂
I would like some advice on a project video post -production , I am currently developing .
Everything depends on five cylindrical MacPro so everything Thunderbolt 2 .

My main problem is the shared storage.

LaCie offers a very interesting soltuions Thunderbolt 2 as :

    LaCie Thunderbolt ™ rack 8big 2
    https://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?id=10622

    and

    Fibre Channel cables adaptations Thunderbolt
    https://www.corning.com/opcomm/OpticalCablesByCorning/promo/150off.aspx

The idea is to mount two 8big LaCie Thunderbolt ™ rack 2 (one for reading and one for writing ), but from what I read on the Lacie site every rack has only two outputs Thunderbolt 2 .

    My question is as follows:

I need a switch or splitter to connect Thunderbolt 2 five MacPro simultaneously ? knowing each rack is connected independently of each other on the machine!

    What do you think ?

    Thank you for help guys
    (Sorry for my english)

    you have excellent English.
Thunderbolt networking does not work. The Lacie 8 big 2 is a very nice Thunderbolt drive array (like the Promise R8 or Maxx Digital ThunderRaid), but it is not a shared storage system. To do shared storage, you need a dedicated server, and Ethernet equipment. There are countless companies that advertise on these Cow forums that sell these products, and they will all work for you.

If you think that you will simply connect your 5 Thunderbolt computers to the 5 Thunderbolt ports on the new Mac Pro (which is connected to the big Lacie Thunderbolt drive), and you will now have shared storage – THIS WILL NOT WORK.
