Advice for a request for music change
Hi everyone,
I wonder if someone can offer me some advice on this. I’ve created a video of a large estate house for a customer and cut it to music – music I chose as it was suitable for the video . So far it’s in the rough edit stage. The video has a lot of movement in it and the timing of the video editing to the music is critical to the overall flow of the video. However, now the customer wants a friend of theirs to write some music for the video. They haven’t even seen the rough edit yet so this is an idea that popped up out of nowhere. I’m just wondering how to approach this issue with the customer. I certainly don’t want to have to re-edit the whole video again to another piece of music which quite possibly won’t fit or be appropriate.
I’m tempted to say that I will provide the cut video and then their musician friend can create their music to fit. Otherwise I could just say no and hope they don’t backout of it all. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I guess I’m looking for a reasonable and delicately worded argument that would persuade the customer that their idea is a bad one ☺
Cheers
Dave
