Advanced Framerate Conversions in AME / PP / AE?
Hey looking to stop using Compressor for this but I haven’t found a great way to do it in Adobe Media Encoder.
I’ve been super happy with AME’s scaling / resizing algorithms, but I’m not finding an easy replacement for using Compressor’s optical flow tech for framerate conversions (ie getting 29.97 into 23.98, or 29.97 into and out of 25fps systems with as few artifacts as possible.
I really like the real time conversion in Premiere, it’s great for editorial/rough cuts, but it’s not finishing quality.
Is there some AME setting I’m missing? Is the answer in After Effects?
I’d like to have a Apple Compressorless solution to this issue. Not to mention the long render times that compressor has.

Have you tried enabling “Maximum Render Quality”? That’s a high quality output.

If you do frame-rate conversions in After Effects, you can take advantage of the pixel motion version of frame blending, which gives much better results than the frame mix that is available in Premiere Pro.
