If you look at some of the consumer DVD Authoring software out there today, many of them have features for adding very interesting menus and transitions to a DVD. DVDA makes this a little harder, I have to create my own video clips for transitions etc. OK, I can do that.

One thing I have not found a way to do yet is the following. You have a menu, lets say a chapter selection menu, and as you move from item to item (not clicking on it) an image or movie somewhere else on the screen changes. In other words, I can have a nice video window on the screen and a few textual menus running down the side. As the user goes from menu item to menu item, the big video window changes content.

How would I accomplish this in DVDA?

You would have to jump to different menus as you select the various menu options. It would take a bunch of duplicate menus – one for each option on the selection menu.

Yeah, I was afraid of this. Ah well. Pity it must be so difficult. Guess I’ll use Ulead DVD Movie Factory if I want this kind of a DVD.
