December 6, 2006 at 4:44 amI was just inferring that in edit*/Inscriber, very routine/common tasks were really easy to do, and no other NLE ever has matched their intuitive inferface design and usability, esp. with character generation. Yeah we own 2 CMX-Omni850’s and a Abekas 8150 w/DVEOUS (now never used) and I have an Edit 6.0 with the “10 minute” Abekas board, (plus an edit 6.5 sdi and edit 6). So I understand where your coming from. FCP is close, but not quite there. I’m an old-school hardware acceleration guy who loves the Targa2K and 3K boards and have some blind faith that an Avid has to be more thought out than FCP. We don’t work for Networks, we have a higher price per finished minute income for corporate work, which is Character Genorator heavy. Unless I don’t get it, FCP does not have a decent CG, and there are a lot of other short comings. We do about 1M a year in post and for us FCP ain’t the tool.
Anyway – thanks for the food for thought on an Adrenaline. The Avid forums are addement that Nitris is worth it. The Cow forum says: Adrenaline. Everyone has made valid points. I’d love an BMW Grip Truck for my camera gear. I’m confused as hell and appreciate all the honest input. Maybe Adrenaline now and the next generation of Nitris/Symphony down the road??

December 8, 2006 at 1:36 amBob and Laura – I have to thank you both for steering me to the Adreniline over the Nitris. I met with Avid and the dealer today and your advice was right on the money. I’ll send you the 50K saved and you can split it amougst yourselves. Many thanks to everyone for all your valuable input on this thread!
