Comparing CS5’s video editing applications, namely Premiere & AE, how do they stand up alongside Final Cut Studio 3, namely FCP. Main use is for pieces ranging from short-format documentaries, to PSAs, to feature docs to typography heavy graphic animating. Main concerns are the level of difficulty of switching to Adobe after logging so many thousands of hours of experience becoming fluent in FCP. Speed of app & reliability are huge as well.

Thank you so much cteative people! I’m but a mere caffe, as this is post #1! –

    Hi Joe,

This subject has been covered in depth at the Cow and elsewhere, I would suggest a search of the Premiere forums here to review. This link is available on the Cow for example – https://library.creativecow.net/kobler_helmut/FCP-vs-Premiere-Pro/1

    Thanks

I agree with Jeff’s suggestion. You might also want to compare and contrast the media management aspects of the two. While similar, I think Adobe has a ways to go before they catch up with FCP 7.0 and in some ways is better, if you like using OnLocation, which doesn’t work for my needs.
