Adobe Premiere Pro Not Responding
I’m currently editing a video with adobe Premiere pro CS4.
I’ve had lag problems before so I upgraded my RAM, bought an external hard drive and freed up space in my laptop. Worked perfectly fine and faster after the mentioned upgrade.But lately I’ve been encountering problems with Premiere.
After opening my current project, it will load up to the workspace itself. But now I can’t view the playback even though i can freely move the “red vertical line” on the timeline(sorry dont know it’s name)
then when I attempt to toggle in with other sequences that Ive created, it will now prompt (Not Responding).I waited for the program to respond, but alas, I had to close it and refresh. Same scenario happens everytime I open the particular project.
i tried everything, from cleaning my registry to, defragging my laptop, to freeing up more space in C:, refreshing it etc.
But still, same thing happens.
It’s frustrating…What seems to be the prob with my project?
Please enlighten me…Hope someone can enlighten me on this.

Hi Nestor,
Once in a while, a clean system install may be the only solution. We do this a least once a year on both the Windows and Mac side.
But before you do that, you could try removing the cache files inside Premiere (Preferences > Media). You could also try purging the render files. Finally, try deleting the media cache folder inside your project folder.
An external drive can also become problematic as it gets full or a project gets larger. It should be eSata or Firewire (800 preferably).
That may mean the purchase on an inexpensive express card if your laptop and drive supports it.
