We do case studies of our client’s customers from locations around the globe. This week, for example, I am working on case studies from New Zealand and Riyadh. We hire local videographers to shoot the case studies and we edit here in the US using Adobe Premiere Professional CS5 master suite.

On occasion we get footage from the videographer that Adobe Premiere Pro will not read on the Windows platform. It usually when the videographer is an Apple user and unfamiliar with Windows. Do others have that issue? I finally sent the latest footage out and had it transcoded by a Final Cut shot into a format we could read. I hate doing that as we lose a little in the conversion.

The last time we had that issue we purchased MainConcept and their codecs fixed the issue. However, the new version of PPro has broken the MainConcept codecs and they are not sure when they’ll have a fix.
