Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5.1
Posted by Ray Tragesser on September 13, 2011 at 1:10 pmHello,
Any idea when a new driver package is coming out with full support for the Adobe 5.5.1 patch that came out 9-13-11
Thanks

September 14, 2011 at 12:30 amEek! I was about to upgrade when I saw your post. Do you lose output to external monitor?

September 14, 2011 at 12:52 amHey Peter,
I am right in the middle of some heavy jobs and there is no way I can risk it:). We need a brave soul to give it a try. Or we can hope that Blackmagic responds to this post.
Anyone?

September 14, 2011 at 4:35 amI couldn’t resist trying. I just installed it over CS5.5 on OSX Snow Leopard and my Decklink 3D Extreme works fine. It’s just a patch as I understand, not a rewite.

September 14, 2011 at 4:48 amTake 2: It doesn’t work with Decklink. Playback jams on the timeline. Don’t do it.
EDIT****** I rebooted the MacPro and it seems to be working fine now. I’ll report back.

Drives are cheap these days. -

September 15, 2011 at 1:29 pmHow about we let Blackmagic be the pioneer? This forum has become very sparse with any input from Blackmagic. With Adobe making such bold moves recently and also having such a great presence on a variety of forums, its a bit discouraging that Blackmagic doesn’t spend a little more time with its existing user base and explain whats coming down the line.
There are lots of users who could really benefit from better integration between the Decklink products and Adobe software. In the latest post on the Premiere Pro work area page:
https://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/It says this:
We have also been working with several providers of plug-ins, codecs, and hardware devices (such as Cineform, AJA, Nvidia, and BlackMagic) to assist them in updating their software to fix some errors and crashes. Please take this opportunity to download and install updated codecs, plug-ins, and drivers from these providers, as relevant to your work.
All I am asking for is an official response from Blackmagic that says “yeah were all over it, well have something coming out soon that works well with CS5.5.1”
Simple.
