Hi. I am trying to bring in about 30 hours of footage that I digitzied using Premiere Pro into Avid Xpress. I can bring in an AVI fine, not a problem. But…. What if I want timecode and reel information, in case I need to redigitize at a later date? Is there a way to bring that in without doing an EDL, which I assume would involved redigitizing 30 hours of footage?

I don’t think so. When you import a file you lose all timecode and reel information. I’m thinking you’re going to have to recapture if you need that information.

If I may ask, why capture in Premiere Pro if you’re going to edit in Avid? Why not just edit in Premiere or capture to Avid first?

    Mike.
